Fifteen years ago, I was a dope-dealing, money-hungry thug, an addict who loved getting high on my own supply.

I was hell-bent and had no true identity or purpose. I lived for the moment, consumed by street life and the desire to be accepted.

The crazy thing is, I had good parents. They’re still in my life today. But there was a void in my heart that nothing could fill.

I searched for significance in people, substances, money, and a music career, believing those things would bring fulfillment. They never did.

My teenage years and early adulthood were filled with ecstasy, LSD, ketamine, alcohol, marijuana, cocaine, and methamphetamine.

I spent countless nights watching the sun rise after one rave, one party, and one after-party after another. I couldn’t get enough.

I had multiple run-ins with the law—DUIs, possession charges, and eventually the label of “convicted felon.”

The truth is, those labels weren’t unfair. My actions put me there. I tried to play the role of a tough guy, an OG, someone who had it all together.

But in reality, I was broken, hurt, insecure, and lost.

I wrestled with questions that haunted me:

Would I ever overcome the generational curses?

Would I ever escape poverty?

Would I ever find my worth?

Would I ever know who I truly was?

Then, in September of 2012, Jesus met me in my misery.

He met me in my addiction.

He met me in my despair.

He met me in my insecurity.

He met me at the lowest point of my life.

One touch from Jesus radically changed everything.

I encountered the power of the Gospel.

I encountered His glory.

He began transforming me from the inside out.

He renewed my mind. He filled me with His Spirit.

He gave me new desires.

desires that aligned with His Kingdom and His Word.

He delivered me from things

I never thought I could be free from.

He put hope back in my heart.

He gave me a reason to dream again.

He reminded me that I had purpose.

As He sanctified me, He called me, chose me, and anointed me to preach His Word.

No longer was I defined by being a drug dealer.

No longer was I defined by being a drug addict.

No longer was I defined by being a felon.

My name was written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

Now He calls me son.

He calls me chosen.

He calls me blessed.

He calls me redeemed.

Today, my desire is no longer to run to a liquor bottle. My desire is to run to His feet and drink from the cup of His presence.

My desire is to abide in Him and rest beneath the shadow of the cross.

Jesus is still a Redeemer. He can pull you out of addiction.

He can heal your broken heart. He can restore what was lost.He can heal the wounds left by abuse,

rejection, betrayal, and pain.

If He can take an old wretched man like me, transform me from the inside out, and use me for His glory, He can do the same for you.

Call on the name of Jesus while He may be found.

Repent of your sins.Seek His face.

Surrender your life to Him.

The same Jesus who changed me is still changing lives today.

My own life is a testimony of the power of Jesus Christ. I know what it means to be bound, addicted, broken, and to feel too far gone. But Jesus came looking for me. Just like the shepherd who left the 99 to go after the one, Christ reached into my mess, rescued me, and completely changed my life.

Today, the very places the enemy tried to destroy me in have become the places God uses my testimony to reach others.

That is the heartbeat of JesusJunki3 Muzikk—going after the ONE.
